Being a minority in a nation, your community has to sort of be as transparent as possible. If not transparent then at least productive in a good way. I live in New York City where there are all different types of minorities. There is a lot of cultural diffusion and understanding between cultures here. Yet there is still uneasiness against Muslims. Most of the time it's because most of the people are too narrow-minded to understand the real situation and distinguish between the good and bad, but there are some people have every right to behave the way they do. You know why? Because of idiots like the "Times Square Bomb Suspect" gives them a reason to. As soon as the city (you can also say the country as well) sees a change in the environment; with Obama having a better AfghanPak policy and pushing the news media and government agencies to separate the words Islam and terrorism as far as possible, something like this happens. What's worst is that the suspect was of Pakistani origin. Since most people in the states don't know about the Pakistani accomplishments in war of terror (most don't even know that Pakistan is on the same side as America in the war) this is just further going to taint our image. What's worst is that the Pakistani taliban tried to take claim for it. So because of their stupid and unrealistic claim the words Pakistani and taliban are temporarily stuck in the minds of the popluation. So thank you idiots; you just made the life of 7 million Muslims even more difficult!
Our nation is in critical condition right now. This is the first time in Pakistani history that Pakistan is both internally and externally in chaos. Usually corruption is the only problem inside Pakistan, and India the only problem outside. But now it is more than that. Outside, Both Afghanistan and India are Pakistan's problem, as well as the intentions of our "frenemy" (friend and enemy); the United States. Inside, power, gas and sugar shortages are only adds to the chaos. While Karachi is going into flames, the rest of the nation is being rocked by the India supported taliban suicide attacks. And yet with everything going against us we are still strong as a nation and still the most successful country fighting the war on terror. The war on terror is definitely the most expensive war for Pakistan and yet the most rewarding. I mean we get the chance to eliminate the cancer in our society that has being growing in our culture since the early 90s. We have a chance to get rid of the flawed thinking that exists within our society and I see the Pakistani army and the Pakistani public taking full advantage of that. Now that my friend is priceless. For the friends, enemies, and "frenemies" of Pakistan, just remember one thing; no matter how deep shit we get into, we always did and always will find a way back out. You know why? Because Allah will always be on our side.
Every since the beginning the these suicide attacks in Pakistan, there have been some suspicions that the Tehrik-i-Taliban is being backed by India and it's intelligence agency; RAW. First they were rumors but later they slowly became more and more realistic. During Rah-e-Rast [the Swat operation conducted by the military], the military officials claimed that they have found Indian weapons that were being used by the Tehrik-i-Taliban. And it wasn't just any one else but the big shots of the army who claimed this. Later, during Rah-e-Nijat [military operation conducted in South Waziristan] the same claims were also made by both junior and senior officers that were involved in the operation. Some of the suicide attacks that were foiled last year also indicate that an external force was involved in arming the militants. But the confusing part is that when someone tries to bring this out to the public some higher power stops him/her. Why would the government try to cover this up? While India keeps on pointing fingers at Pakistan for everything that goes wrong in their country then why can't we actually blame them for something they did and are doing. I mean it is known fact that RAW is training militants that enter Pakistan from India's misplaced embassies in Afghanistan. The latest suicide attack took place in Rawalakot and targeted security men there. I see India's hand in this all the way. Who else would attack the security forces that are there to protect the people of Azad Kashmir from the Indian forces? While the western world ignores our evidence against India, it becomes quite scary to know who we're actually fighting and if the war is really against us. But no matter what the answers are, we will win this war because we have something that no other force in the world has on their side; ALLAH.
Kohistan is a district within Pakistan's North West Frontier Province. In 1998 it was reported to have a population of 472,570. Kohistan stretches from the border with Azad Kashmir in the east to Afghanistan's Nuristan province in the west. It also has a rich local history as a crossroads between Central, South and Southwestern Asia. Predominantly inhabited by Dardic and Pashtun tribes since ancient times, Kohistan has been invaded and contested by Persians, Greeks, Scythians, Kushans, Turks, Afghans, Mughals, and the British.
In recent news US Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke said President Obama also has “very deep personal feelings for Pakistan, As a young man he visited Pakistan. His mother worked there, and she loved Pakistan”. Wow, now that's what i call breaking news. I don't know if this is true or not but it is coming from a very official source; Washington itself. I have nothing more to say, i am still very stunned lol.
This video has spread like fire all across Pakistan and has made quite a few sparks. It shows a 17 year old women being pinned down by her own brother and being whipped by the Taliban in public. Reason? She has been accused of having an affair. And no this is not a footage from Aghanistan during the taliban's rule but it is of Swat, Pakistan [6 months ago]. Even though some may agree she should be punished but what if the women was innocent? What if someone blamed her? And if she tried to protest her innocence who would believe her in the taliban's male dominated society? Such problems are common in the taliban society and there is a very big flaw in their way of thinking. It is very sad that such events are happening in our own country as this is one of the most medieval ways of justice i have ever seen. My people all i ask you is to think: do you really want this kind of justice where women don't have a voice at all? Is that even justice? Don't just stand with your hands folded my friends, RAISE YOUR VOICE, as this is our country and we won't give in to some miscreants.
Minallah and other sources said the girl was punished on suspicion of having had an illicit relationship with a married man. She did not receive a trial. "The whole case is based on the suspicions of one neighbour," said Minallah. Article Source: Guardian.co.uk
This is one complicated topic. To truly understand War On Terror [WOT] you have to look back in Afghani history.
The Start Of The War And It's Origin
When Afghanistan was being taken over by the Soviet forces, the Pakistani ISI and the American CIA got involved in the war to defeat the Soviets from succeeding. They trained groups like the Afghani Mujhadeen and Taliban so they can stop the Soviets and stabilize the country. Among those men being trained was Osama Bin Laden. The war caused much damage to Afghanistan as over 1 million Afghanis were killed, 5 million Afghanis fled to Pakistan and Iran, Another 2 million Afghans were displaced within the country. In the 1980s, one out of two refugees in the world was an Afghan. After the soviets were defeated, the U.S. left and Afghanistan was left with a civil war in it's hand [between the Afghani government and the Taliban] in which the Taliban took over Afghanistan. On September 11, 2001, the U.S. was attacked on it's own soil. The person behind the attacks was said to Osama Bin Laden who had differences with the U.S. and Saudi government because following the Soviet Union's withdrawal from Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden returned to Saudi Arabia. The Iraqiinvasion of Kuwait in 1990 had put the country of Saudi Arabia and its ruling House of Saud at risk as Saudi's most valuable oil fields (Hama) were within easy striking distance of Iraqi forces in Kuwait, and Saddam's call to pan-Arab/Islamism could potentially rally internal dissent. In the face of a seemingly massive Iraqi military presence, Saudi Arabia's own forces were well armed but far outnumbered. Bin Laden offered the services of his Mujhadeen to King Fahd to protect Saudi Arabia from the Iraqi army. The Saudi monarch refused bin Laden's offer, opting instead to allow U.S. and allied forces to deploy on Saudi territory. The deployment angered Bin Laden, as he believed the presence of foreign troops in the "land of the two mosques" (Mecca and Medina) profaned sacred soil. After speaking publicly against the Saudi government for harboring American troops, he was quickly forced into exile to Sudan. On April 9, 1994 his Saudi citizenship was revoked. His family publicly disowned him. With the political conflict Afghanistan was trapped in the picture again as the U.S. claimed that Osama was residing in Afghanistan. The invasion took place and U.S. dragged Pakistan along stating that "If you don't help us then you will be blown back to the stone ages" [true statement admitted by then Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf].
The Horrors Of The Taliban
When Pakistan got involved in the war it started realizing the Taliban's horrible ways. Although the Taliban and Al-Qaeda claim to be Islamic groups they kill innocent people no matter what they're religion, race, age, or gender is. People to this day are being brainwashed to believe that they are fighting for the cause of their religion but are in fact being used for the political needs of their groups. Using Islam to meet your political needs is not only Haram [forbidden] but killing Muslims, women, children, the elderly, innocent people, and committing suicide are all unislamic but are daily practices of the Taliban. Also the money being made for such groups are made through the sales of drugs throughout the world [evidence backs it up]. The real Muhjadeen have not mostly distanced themselves with these groups but the younger generations have unfortunately grown into them. There have been evidence that supports India's involvement in Afghanistan and Tribal Areas of Pakistan to strengthen the Taliban and destabilize both countries.
Pakistan Fighting A Different War
Although going by the same name Pakistan is fighting a different war. Not following the U.S.'s flawed war Pakistan is using the war as a way to remove unislamic and dangerous groups such as the Taliban from its soil. It has been quite successful as the local tribes in Pakistan's tribal areas have been educated on the evils of the Taliban and are helping the Pakistani army defeat them. Pakistan is going through a revolution as well as every other muslim in the world.
Success Story And Unequal Treatment
Pakistan is the only country who is winning the WOT even though having world powers like the U.S. and Britain involved in the war. Pakistan have killed, arrested, destroyed and brought the most damage to the Taliban more than any other country. It even has the most victories [recently eliminated ALL the militants in the Bajaur Agency in Pakistan]. Even with such success Pakistan is being treated unequal by it's allies and is being told to do more than it is currently doing even though the Pakistani people are being affected badly by the war.
Pakistanis are a mix variety of people united by religion, culture, and ideals. Pakistanis are usually Baluchi, Sindhi, Pashtun, Punjabi, and Kashmiri with different but very similar cultures united by one major language: Urdu. Although some of these cultural people stay in parts of Pakistan where their culture is mostly dominating, you can sight them all in every part of Pakistan especially in urban places such as Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad and many more cities. Pakistan is prominently muslim with a 97% muslim population [2nd highest in the world] but has minoritiy groups such as christians, hindus, sikhs, parsis, and very small amount of jews. Migrants from India during the partition have dwelled into the communities they settled in and are considered locals by themselves as well as the orignal community members. There are also 2 million registered afgani refugees in Pakistan as a result of war and instablility in Afghanistan.
