IHK Celebrates Pakistan's Win
While there are celebrations all over the world for Pakistan's victory in the world cup, this specific article and place caught my attention:SRINAGAR: Residents in Indian-ruled Kashmir Sunday fired crackers in the region's main city after Pakistan beat Sri Lanka to win the World Twenty20 championship, witnesses said.Srinagar -- the Kashmiri summer capital -- erupted in celebration after Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by eight wickets and as scores of Kashmiri youth poured on to the streets and lit firecrackers. The youths also chanted pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogans as Indian aramilitary troops stayed in their bunkers, witnesses said.Thousands of Kashmiris, including women and children, were glued to their televisions sets to watch the tense final.

Jinnah's Eyes
I went to the Pakistani embassy in new york a few days ago and the trip was memorable. As I was walking towards it [without knowing where it was], I noticed a big Pakistani flag hanging from a building that could cover almost the whole sidewalk. I got a huge smile on my face as I didn't really expect this and seeing such site in the heart of New York City really impressed me. As i walked in i noticed that it looked nothing like a New York building inside. It in fact felt like I was in some building back home. There were several paintings and pictures on the wall but 3 out stood them all. First was the painting of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. I could not keep my eyes off his painting. There was something too it that dragged me to it. As I looked closely I noticed that Jinnah's eyes were squinting as he was trying to look for something. As all portraits in the world, Jinnah's portrait was looking at it's viewer. As i continued to look at his eyes for one reason; his eyes sent a strong vibe throughout my body. It was pride mixed with fear, with some point of disappointment at me, and greatly; Inspiration. The 2 other pictures that caught my eye were far right from Jinnah and were of our current Prime Minister Yousaf Gilani and current President Asif Zardari. As i looked at them i just couldn't ignore my disgust toward them. I mean here you have a man who found a nation out of scratch that would secure the rights of millions of people and then you have pictures of people who don't even understand the nation's importance. I looked back at Jinnah and remembered his history as great barrister and a amazing politician who sacrificed the relationship with his daughter to help his new born nation. Then i looked back at the the two leaders of Pakistan today, one who served over 5 years in prison [charged for corruption] [Gilani], and the other who has a long history of corruption, never went to college [made up a fake one], and possibly killed his own wife for power [Zardari]. My trip was awed by the beauty of the place as well as Jinnah's portrait but disappointed by 2 infidels who don't belong in power.June 19, 2009
Journey To The World Cup
In the beginning of the tournament, making it to the semi-finals even seemed impossible for Pakistan. Losing both warm-up matches to India and South Africa, the journey ahead did not look bright for Pakistan. We lost our first match against England by 48 runs. Our losses were unexplainable. We had the best team on paper and yet our performances were shitty as hell. We didn't know what was wrong, all we knew was that we had to fix it. Next game we bounced back as we went against Netherlands [who has previously beaten England] and defeated them by a massive 82 runs! Although Netherlands is not much of a competition, our win was necessary or else we would've gotten kicked out the tournament. Then we faced Sri Lanka and lost to them by 19 runs. It seemed like whenever we faced a good team, we would find ourselves struggling. That started changing when Abdul Razzaq joined the squad after quitting the ICL. That did the magic and Pakistan defeated New Zealand who had only lost one match in the tournament so far [to undefeated South Africa and only by one run]. Pakistan came back to it's normal stage of being an unpredictable team who can suprise the world and even themselves when it comes to gametime! After the win, Pakistan sailed through Ireland and into the semis while Umar Gul takes 5 wickets in one match [a first in twenty20] and sets a world record. But the biggest match was yesterday. South Africa going through the whole tournament without even losing a single match would've scared any other team but not Pakistan! Pakistan did the impossible and added yet another upset to the list by being the first team to defeat South Africa in the whole tournament and making it to the World Cup Twenty20 Final. The win wasen't easy but with some brilliant batting from the whole team [Shahid Afridi Shined with 51 runs] and great bowling by Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal, the win had to belong to Pakistan. Today's semi-final between Sri Lanka and West Indies will decide who we will face in the Final, but i say that doesn't matter. As long as we play well and put up a fight, we are sure to win!

Army Ready To Strike The Core
Our Armed Forces are ready to eliminate the root of all evil and the guy that brought hell to Pakistan; baitullah mehsud. The face of the army, Major General Athar Abbas has just announced that the army is about to launch a full scale operation to hunt down baitullah mehsud and his taliban network in South Waziristan. Even before the press conference, the troops, backed by helicopter gunships and artillery, attacked militant hideouts in South Waziristan last week, killing a number of terrorists. This operation will be a turning point in the war as without mehsud [the talibani leader] and his headquarters, the taliban network in Pakistan will collapse. Currently the taliban have no where to turn to as the people have risen against their injustice and formed a Lashkar [fighting force - and concluding from recent news; very effective], and the army won't rest till the people of our nation are safe. My words to the taliban are go back to where you came from: HELL!

Pakistan To Get $1.3 Billion For Next 5 Years
The United States House of Representatives have just passed a bill in which Pakistan will get a total of $1.3 billion [includes military and economic aid] each year for the next 5 years. That is 3 times as much as Pakistan is getting right now! The motivation to pass this bill is the nation's ongoing operations against the taliban. So basically we're getting paid to kill the cancer from our society! Well kinda, because we end up spending all the money on getting them killed, but that's only $400 million from the whole funding, the rest we can spend on schools, government, the economy etc. Hopefully this advancement will help us in our battle and help us revive our once great economy.

Locals Take Action
After the unislamic bombing of a Masjid during Juma prayers by the self-proclaimed "Muslim" fighters [the Pakistani taliban] in Upper Dir, the locals have had enough. As many as 1,600 locals got together and formed a Lashkar [a fighting force] to avenge the death of 33 worshippers. One resident of Upper Dir was quoted saying“We are Muslims … we don’t want them, they have to go. Attacking a mosque is not Islam. They’re not Muslim.” Over the weekend 13 militants have been killed by the Lashkar as well as 5 villages known to be taliban strongholds have been attacked. Also 25 homes of taliban commanders and their fighters were destroyed by the group. The Pakistani people have realised the enemy within their nation and the taliban's influence in Pakistan is dropping rapidly. The days of the miscreants in our nation is numbered...

Poverty Drops To 17.2 Percent
Even with a war and an ongoing world wide economic recession, Pakistan's economy is doing not so bad. According to the World Bank, Pakistan's poverty has dropped 5.1 percent from 22.3% to 17.2%. Wow, and you would think we would become more poor with so much chaos in the country! Also Pakistan's per capita GDP [Growth Domestic Product] is surprisingly better than rival India at $996 against India's $976. Now that is some amazing news! I hope the best for our country and our stock market [used to be the best in the world back in 2001-2004 [or maybe 2005]] and Inshallah we will be a economic world leader like our friend China.

Pakistan's 20/20 WC Future Not Looking Bright
Even though we made it to the finals in the last twenty20 world cup and our team looks quite solid on paper, our performances in the recent warm-up matches weren't a pretty sight. We lost to both South Africa and India and I still can't figure out what's wrong! I mean we have a pretty good squad that gets along great but we just can't put it together. Everything is perfect; we have a good head coach, a good administration, good players that came from the domestic competition, some really good returning players, but when it comes to game time everything crumbles [talking about 20/20]. In the recent match with India, we lost by 9 wickets! Maybe i'm just mad about that or maybe someone has to take action. Anyway, all the best to our team and Inshallah they will put things together and win...

Women Fight Off Militants
Like a week ago, After the army encouraged the nation to stand up against the injustice of the taliban, several women joined villagers in a revolt against the taliban in Pakistan's Swat Valley when the taliban tried to enter their village. In the town of Kalam it's deputy mayor Shamshad Haqqai said that about 50 Taliban fighters tried to enter Kalam on Wednesday but that locals had fought them off. Sources revealed that the militants had come to the village to collect arms, ammunition and food. A local also stated that the militants also visited the house of a local elder but as there were no men inside the house, the women climbed to the rooftop of the house and opened fired on the militants killing 5 at the scene. Now that's what i'm talking about! If every person in Pakistan was like that we'd have no taliban! Kya Samjai?!? [What do u say]
